What you sell

Tyres, parts and the work you do

  • Tyres

Size, load index, speed rating, brand, vehicle type and condition on each tyre.

  • Batteries

Sold and counted like any other product, with a brand if you record one.

  • Brakes and parts

Pads, discs, filters and other parts in your own catalogue.

  • Oils and fluids

By the litre or the pack, each with its own price.

  • Accessories

Valves, wheel nuts, caps and the small items that add up.

  • Services

Fitment, balancing, alignment and puncture repairs, sold without stock.

Features

Built around how your counter works.

Search by size, however it is typed

205/55R16, 205 55 16 or 2055516 all find the same tyre, at the till and on the stock screen. Brand, load and speed ratings are searchable too.

Tyre details on every tyre

Size, load index, speed rating, brand, vehicle type and condition, with a brand list of tyres common in South Africa that you can edit.

Fitment on the same slip

Fitment, balancing, alignment and valves go in the same sale as the tyres, and services are reported separately from goods.

Swaps and trade-ins

Record the customer’s used tyre, take its agreed value off the sale, and stock it with its condition grade. Scrap is recorded but not stocked.

Condition grades

New, used A, B or C, retread and scrap, so a used tyre is never sold as new.

Profit by brand and condition

See which brands and which grades of tyre earn their place in the store room.

Counts and a buy list

Blind stock counts, and a buy list with suggested quantities from recent sales.

Tabs for fleet and trade customers

Put work on a customer’s tab, send invoices and statements, and see who owes you, by age.

Bring your existing product list

During set-up, a tyre and parts list in a spreadsheet can be imported: product names, prices, costs, barcodes, brands, categories and tyre sizes. Services in the list are marked as services. Nothing is overwritten, and rows that need a decision are set aside for you.

  • Tyre sizes read out of the spreadsheet and stored as tyre details
  • Parts sorted into categories such as batteries, brakes, filters and lubricants
  • Fitment, balancing and similar rows marked as services
  • Not available: Stock quantities are not loaded from the file; stock goes in with your first count or delivery

How it works in practice

A tyre sale with fitment and a swap

  1. Step 1: Search the size

The cashier types 205/55R16 and sees every matching tyre, with its brand and stock.

  2. Step 2: Add four tyres

Tap the tyre the customer chose and set the quantity to four.

  3. Step 3: Add the work

Tap Service and add fitment and balancing for four wheels, plus four valves.

  4. Step 4: Take the old tyres

Two used tyres in good condition are recorded as a swap; their value comes off the sale.

  5. Step 5: Pay and print

Cash, or card on your own machine. The slip shows the tyres, the work and the trade-in.

Questions

What people in your trade ask.

Good to know before you buy

Gestion POS does not do these today. If one matters to your shop, say so when you book a demo.

  • Quotations
  • Workshop job cards or technician management
  • Vehicle registration lookup or vehicle history
  • Fitment bookings or scheduling
  • Battery specifications, or matching parts to vehicles
Can cashiers search for a tyre by size?

Yes. The till and the stock screen both match a tyre’s size however it is typed, for example 205/55R16, 205 55 16 or 2055516, as well as its brand, load index and speed rating.

Can I sell fitment and balancing with the tyres?

Yes. Services are products that sell without stock, so fitment, balancing, alignment and repairs go on the same slip as the tyres and are reported apart from goods.

How are used tyres and swaps handled?

At the till, staff record the customer’s used tyre with its size, brand, condition and agreed value. The value comes off the sale. Used tyres go into stock with their grade; scrap tyres are recorded but not stocked. Above a limit you set, a manager’s code is needed.

Does it do quotes or job cards?

Not today. Gestion POS sells, stocks and reports. Quotations, job cards and vehicle records are not part of the product.

Can I load my current tyre and parts list?

Yes, during set-up, from a spreadsheet. Tell us what you have when you book a demo.
